PHYSICAL EDUCATION 9 
Grade: 9 
2.5 Credits - 1 Semester - Required for Graduation 
Prerequisite(s): None. 

This Physical Education course for the ninth grade students consists of a variety of team and individual activities. Some activities offered during the course include aerobics, badminton, bowling, dance, flag football, pickle ball, soccer, softball, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and weight training. Daily exercise warm-up is a requirement for each class lesson. All students must be appropriately dressed and all are expected to participate unless a physician has issued an excuse to the school nurse.


HEALTH EDUCATION 9

Prerequisite(s): None. 

This Health course for the ninth grade students bridges the gap between elementary school and high school in terms of adolescent needs. Main topic areas that are covered include human sexuality, substance use and abuse, the family, and sexually transmitted diseases.

This Physical Education course for the tenth grade student consists of a variety of team and individual activities. Some activities offered during the course include aerobics, badminton, basketball, bowling, dance, floor hockey, pickle ball, soccer, table tennis, team handball, and weight training. Daily exercise warm-up is a requirement for each class lesson. All students must be appropriately dressed and all are expected to participate unless a physician has issued an excuse to the school nurse.


HEALTH EDUCATION 10

2.5 Credits - 1 Semester — Required for Graduation 
Prerequisite(s): None. 

This Health course for the tenth grade student deals with driver education. Students are exposed to driving techniques and strategies that will prepare them to become responsible and safe drivers. The specific laws of the State of New Jersey are also discussed and the student is given an opportunity to take the State written test in school.

This Physical Education course for the eleventh grade student consists of a variety of team and individual activities. Some activities offered during the course include, aerobics, badminton, bowling, dance, flag football, pickle ball, soccer, softball, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and weight training. HEALTH EDUCATION 11

This Health course for the eleventh grade student covers the areas of consumer health, substance use and abuse, disease and common health problems, and safety/first aid including CPR exposure. The purpose of the course is to develop desirable health habits and attitudes.

This Physical Education course for the twelfth grade student consists of a variety of team and individual activities. Some activities offered during the course include aerobics, badminton, basketball, bowling, dance, floor hockey, pickle ball, soccer, table tennis, team handball, and weight training. Daily exercise warm-up is a requirement for each class lesson. All students must be appropriately dressed and all are expected to participate unless a physician has issued and excuse to the school nurse.


HEALTH EDUCATION 12

Prerequisite(s): None. 
This Health course for the twelfth grade student gives the graduating senior an opportunity to review prior health knowledge and use it along with new information to make intelligent decisions about health in the future. Some topic areas are substance use and abuse, sexuality, parenting, nutrition, disease, mental health and preventive medicine.


GRADE 12A PHYSICAL EDUCATION - Fifth Year Senior 
2.5 Credits - 1 Semester — Required for Graduation 
Prerequisite(s): None. 

This Physical Education course for the 12A student consists of a variety of team and individual activities. Some activities offered during the course include aerobics, badminton, basketball, bowling, dance, floor hockey, pickle ball, soccer, table tennis, team handball, and weight training. Daily exercise warm-up is a requirement for each class lesson. All students must be appropriately dressed and all are expected to participate unless a physician has issued an excuse to the school nurse.


GRADE 12A HEALTH EDUCATION Grade 12 - Fifth Year Senior 
2.5 Credits — 1 Semester — Required for Graduation 
Prerequisite(s): None. 

This Health course for the grade 12A student consists of the practical application of the research process in the content areas of health. The student will use the school library on a daily basis to prepare a paper, based on his/her choice of an appropriate topic from an approved list. Each student will give an oral presentation each quarter citing the findings of his/her report.
